For Today: January 22nd

Nowhere can a man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul.
Marcus Aurelius

Am I too caught up in external priorities---achievements and acquisitions that have nothing to do with my spiritual well being?  A good antidote is to take time each day to free my mind of such concerns, let my thoughts wander, perhaps into thankfulness for my new life, into awareness of myself as a being created by God, in exploration of ways I can be useful to another person.

My innermost being is a retreat where I can reach out to my Higher Power, renew my spirit and nourish my life.

For Today:  I need no formal knowledge to pray and meditate, just a conscious effort to oopen myself to whatever comes.

When I find myself scattered & running around like a wild-woman, I know it's time to sit back & pray.  If I find myself wanting to overspend on useless 'stuff', same thing, time to regroup and start talking to God.

When my problems seems insurmountable, I start praying for guidance and it always, always comes! God is available to me 24/7.........it is me who isn't available to Him 24/7.

My innermost being is a retreat where I can reach out to my Higher Power, renew my spirit and nourish my life.  What a GREAT sentence!!!

For today, I will consider my innermost being a sacred and awe-inspiring place to be!

  1. Thank you for this blog. I don't comment daily, but turn to it when I am struggling.
